PPC Classroom – Day 24 – Squeeze Pages and Hours

Posted on 16 November 2007 by SonHouse

I’ve been researching some different niches and studying a different approach for my next series of campaigns.  Of course, the holidays are right around the corner, and offers relating to the season seem like a good target.  I set up a few squeeze pages to try and drive some traffic to opt in forms to start building a list that will focus on holiday type offers.

So far, I’ve found some good keywords that are relatively cheap and driving sign ups for the list.  I’ll continue to build it out over the next week or so and then start sending some cleverly written emails, with some offers throughout, to the members of the list.  I’m trying to add real value to the emails and offers so finding the right deals to promote, that convert, is sort of tricky.

I’ve joined about 10 different networks and I’m getting to know the affiliate managers and the layout of their sites, reporting features, etc.  This is somewhat time consuming and a bit of a challenge with a full time day job.  The good news is I’m off next week so I’ll be able to get some real work done.  In the meantime, it’s a few hours here and there every day, when I can squeeze it in.

On an up note, my last campaign has been converting pretty well this week.  I’ve had 7 leads, not bad, and a few of my campaigns that had died off came back to life with a surprising number of leads this week to add to the pot.  So, all and all, not a bad week I must say.  It needs to be good though because late next week will probably start tanking it due to Thanksgiving.  Oh well…it’ll be time to enjoy a good meal and get ready for the next month to rally through to the end of the year.

I’m having my best year yet with PPC and online marketing etc.  I should make a good chunk this year which is encouraging.  If things continue to grow and I can show some consistent income over the next year, I may be able to quit my day job.  I’m not there yet, but getting close….
